Meme from Starrigan

You are The Magician

Skill, wisdom, adaptation. Craft, cunning, depending on dignity.

Eleoquent and charismatic both verbally and in writing,
you are clever, witty, inventive and persuasive.

The Magician is the male power of creation, creation by willpower and desire. In that ancient sense, it is the ability to make things so just by speaking them aloud. Reflecting this is the fact that the Magician is represented by Mercury. He represents the gift of tongues, a smooth talker, a salesman. Also clever with the slight of hand and a medicine man - either a real doctor or someone trying to sell you snake oil.

Light at the end of the tunnel?

So my computer has still crashed, and does not appear to be fixable. However, a friend of mine has located a computer that should do what I need it to for a reasonable price of 250, taxes and shipping (from Gander) in. It is refurbished, but I really don't care. Here's hoping that my parents will let me get it without too much fuss, and that they will either fund/lend me the half of the money which I cannot possibly have until next month. I will be tackling that problem when I go home.

I'm going through a rough time with some anxiety issues, even though there ARE certainly some viable stressors in my life. I will be attending to this matter with medication shortly, and hopefully temporarily. Winter is bad.

Got to both classes today, though I was a couple of minutes late for Folklore.

All in all, things might be looking up. They will CERTAINLY be looking up if I am able to get a new computer, get back in my lair, and get back online.

I'll keep folks posted.

An oldie, but a goodie.

This is posted from my old deviantart journal, as I take a break from the homework

starrigan has assigned to clear my head. I still thought it was cute:

I am, and have been for at least four years now, a victom of VAH Syndrome. (Villians are Hotter Syndrome.) This is a serious affliction. It started in the ninth grade when my parents took me to see the film "Hannibal." I watched it (I didn't realise how much better the books or Silence of the Lambs were until later) and fell head over heels for Hannibal Lecter. Fanfiction, squealing and repeated viewings of all three Lecterflics ensued.

I honestly thought that was it...until I fell for the villian in Tayley-Chan's and my Father's Pride canon, Ruthven Van Kreuz...and the Phantom, all in the same year.

It's not so bad, though...Although it can make watching certain movies difficult. Imagine sitting in a near-silent theatre with a VAH sufferer when Clarice gives Hannibal up to the authorities in Ridley's Scott's horrible artistic license ending, or when Christine Daae unmasks her Angel of Music.

This is why I buy the movies on I can snarl at them without disrupting other patrons.

The Inevitable Christmas Morning Post

Well, I started this one at 7 AM when I was the only person awake in the house, but then Dad came down and asked me to go up and wake my sister.

Nan is here with us, so this Christmas has been pretty special. Had to go to a Roman Catholic mass last night *SO not for me. If it's for other people? That's cool* but went, to keep Nan happy. Spent the remainder of the evening at an Aunt's house drinking Bacardi Breezers and eating Cheezies.

Finally made it to bed around 1 AM, and do not actually remember falling asleep, but that happens sometimes.

Woke up around 6:30 AM. Guess I'm still a kid. Tried to go back to sleep (it's pretty easy on school mornings, let me tell you) but was unsuccessful.

So, I'm sure you're all ITCHING to know what Santa brought me? Well, probably not, but anyways...

Some of the things that are sticking out in my mind now, aside from the usual clothes and such which are ALL very nice...

Jump drive
Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris. (Dr. Lecter's childhood!! YAY! Didn't even realise this was OUT yet)
Mini digital camera (so now you have no excuse for not seeing me, except that I'm ugly. Will take lots of pics of beloved[info]ayley_chan

and dear

, though...)
Nintendo DS and BrainAge
The first two Eragon books (Let's see what this is all about)
From Hell- (Jack the Ripper movie? Looks good.)
Pens, pencils, batteries, chocolate....

Stuff stuff stuff.

Anyway, off I go to crash into bed for a couple of minutes before company comes for dinner!

Merry Christmas and Blessed Yule, everyone!
